HDG is providing architectural and interior design services for an 8,000 sf new Administrative Building and 3,000 sf attached garage for Western Butler County Authority (WBCA). The new building will be located on a newly purchased parcel adjacent to the existing wastewater treatment plant in Zelienople, PA. The building will include a lobby, customer service area, public meeting space, staff offices, an open office area, and 5 bay garage. Sustainability and environmental stewardship are highly valued by WBCA and the building design reflects this through a number of sustainable features. These include energy-efficient systems, renewable energy by utilizing solar panels, and stormwater management through the use of a green roof. Glass partitions at the private offices combined with a clerestory above, bring natural light into the central open office. The design also focuses on indoor air quality and occupant comfort. Materials were selected based on their durability, recyclability, and effects on air quality. Low-emitting and non-toxic materials are of high priority.
Construction on the project began in June of 2024 and looks to wrap up the summer of 2025.
