HDG Architects was retained by the Diocese of Pittsburgh to provide renovations and additions to Domenec Hall on the St. Paul Seminary campus. The building had an exterior set of steps that were used to enter the building. The stairs were completely exposed to the weather, creating difficulties in upkeep and maintenance. Our solution created an 800 SF conditioned vestibule that provided an enclosure of the two sets of grand stairs linking the main parking lot to the administration offices. The design of the addition provided a clear identification of the building’s main entrance, and provided an aesthetic flow into the existing building. Also a part of the work were cosmetic and electrical upgrades to the administrative offices and main corridor.
