This project includes a master site development plan to convert 98-acres of golf course into a community park. The park was planned and designed in coordination with the municipality’s long-range park & recreation comprehensive plan to provide additional recreation facilities and programs other than sports fields, and has been constructed on the former Rolling Hills Country Club property, adjacent to the school district’s new high school (designed by HDG/WMF).
As a subconsultant to Mackin Engineering Company, HDG provided architectural services for design of all the buildings and park site features. The design includes a 3,600 SF Public Works Maintenance Building with a four-bay garage and wash bay, a large pavilion, three smaller pavilions, a public restroom building, two artistic pieces for display on the Great Lawn, and observation decks.
The first phase of the park’s master plan was completed in 2022 and is open to visitors today.
