HDG was hired by Central Catholic High School to design the renovations to their nearly 100-year-old Brothers Residence building. The building was originally constructed to house the Christian Brothers that teach on campus. With fewer Brothers living on campus, Central Catholic had an opportunity to update their living spaces. The second floor of the building was completed renovated to provide new bedroom suites, fully accessible toilet & shower rooms, and a large common room. The first floor and basement of the building were also completely renovated. A new Board Room and Admissions/President office suite was created on the first floor. The Brothers historic Chapel and Kitchen/Dining Room were also renovated on the first floor. The basement floor was reconfigured to provide office space for additional school administration. In addition to these changes, improvements including two ramps, an elevator and a chair lift were installed to make the building fully handicap accessible. All mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems throughout the building were also replaced. All of these changes were made while also maintaining the look and feel of the historic 100 year old building.
