HDG Founder Retires After 32 Years of Service

Kevin Hayes, the founder of The Hayes Design Group – Architects, has retired after 32 years of remarkable dedication and visionary leadership. To commence his retirement, HDG hosted an in-office celebration where we shared stories from the early conception of The Hayes Design Group – Architects through the present-day. It was a great chance to laugh together and toast our Founder. Then, in early October, HDG hosted a surprise party which allowed a more formal opportunity to honor Kevin’s achievements, alongside HDG Staff and Kevin’s close friends and family.

Established in 1992, Kevin’s persistent passion for design and commitment to exceptional service slowly grew his firm into a team of twenty-one talented professionals.  His journey from a one-man operation to a thriving firm is a testament to his resilience, creativity, and integrity.

Throughout his career, Kevin prioritized not only delivering high-quality design but also focused on fostering strong client relationships. His work ethic has been driven by listening first, and then gaining a clear understanding of his clients’ needs, which earned him a reputation for trustworthiness and professionalism. Kevin’s leadership and collaborative approach enabled HDG to take on increasingly complex and significant projects.

Beyond his professional achievements, Kevin has consistently given back to the community. Through volunteering his personal time on several boards and non-profit organizations, mentoring young architects, or bringing the whole firm together provide community service, his impact extends far beyond the buildings he helped design. As Kevin steps into retirement, we are confident that his legacy at HDG Architects will continue to inspire the firm, carrying forward his values of dedication, creativity, and community engagement.
