HDG Architects Present New Design Concepts for Community College of Beaver County and Beaver County Airport Shared Facility to State and Local Government Leaders

HDG Architects’ Rob Rensi, Project Manager, and Matt Dawson, Project Architect, recently had the opportunity to share HDG’s schematic design for the new School of Aviation Sciences, which will be a shared facility for the Community College of Beaver County and the Beaver County Airport Authority (BVI). The meeting, held on August 22, 2023, was a coordinated effort to share with state and local government leaders, including Pennsylvania Lieutenant Governor Austin Davis, how this project would benefit CCBC students and the surrounding community.

The new design will house updated classrooms, state-of-the-art simulators, multiple meeting spaces, a student lounge, café, and administrative offices for both CCBC and BVI. In addition, a new FAA compliant and fully accessible Air Traffic Control Tower will be constructed to improve operational functions and safety at the airport while giving students the best possible On-The-Job Training experience. The building will also function as the Public Terminal for the Beaver County Airport; creating opportunities for students to engage with professional pilots and for the public to observe CCBC’s first class educational opportunities in Professional Piloting, Air Traffic Control, and Aerospace Management.  We were extremely excited to share our designs ideas with the Project Task Force, Local, and State Legislators, and look forward to the next phase of the project.
