Building Community Through Service: HDG at the Waldorf School

At HDG Architects, we believe great communities are built through more than architecture – they’re strengthened through service, collaboration, and shared experiences. That spirit was on full display during this year’s Adopt-A-Landmark Day at the Waldorf School of Pittsburgh.

Our team stepped away from the office for a day of hands-on volunteer work across the school campus. From landscaping and yard work to painting the front entrance, organizing donation items, and cleaning out the basement, every project contributed to creating a more welcoming and functional environment for students and staff.

One of the highlights of the day was the opportunity to speak with students about architecture, design, and the impact the built environment has on everyday life. Sharing our passion with the next generation made the experience especially meaningful for our team.

We want to extend a sincere thank you to the Waldorf School of Pittsburgh for welcoming HDG and allowing us to be part of your community for the day. We’re grateful for the work you do to foster creativity, curiosity, and learning, and we were proud to support your mission through this year’s volunteer efforts.

Adopt-A-Landmark Day continues to be a tradition that reflects the values at the core of our firm: investing in people, preserving and improving spaces, and strengthening the communities we serve.
